Westmoreland Community College

The Natural Gas and Oil Technology Certificate will join the current 13 majors available in the Workforce Development Technologies Division. This curriculum is designed to prepare students for entry level positions in the Natural Gas and Oil industry. Students who complete this program will develop a comprehensive understanding of the activities in the natural gas and oil industry, including: exploration; drilling; production; midstream; transportation; storage; distribution and the safety aspects related to each. Students will engage in classroom and laboratory activities that will develop the basic technical skills necessary to obtain a position within the industry sectors listed above. In addition, students will be required to participate in field activities that supplement the learning process.
