Tara Healey is Program Director for Mindfulness-Based Learning at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care.
In addition to holding an M.Ed. in Health Education and having over twenty years experience in organizational development, Tara is a lifelong practitioner of mindfulness meditation and an advocate for the health benefits associated with its practice. Equipped with many years of practice experience and guidance at the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, MA, Tara is the architect of Harvard Pilgrim’s innovative program adapting the principles of mindfulness meditation to a corporate environment.
The comprehensive suite of mindfulness courses developed at Harvard Pilgrim have been conducted at corporate worksites including Google, Inc., Harvard Medical School, MITRE, Sun Life Financial, Springfield College, and Smith College. Additionally, Tara has been a featured presenter for the Northeast Human Resources Association, the Center for Mindfulness’ 9th Annual International Scientific Conference, the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies’ Creating a Mindful Society Conference, and several American Heart Association Go Red for Women events.
In 2006, Tara was qualified to teach Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction by the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Most recently Tara has expanded Harvard Pilgrim’s mindfulness program to include e-learning resources, and oversees the Mind the Moment website and Facebook page.
